If you’ve been eyeing luxury fabrics but don’t want to splurge on the usual price tags, Quince has likely caught your attention.

I was lucky enough to have a few pieces sent my way, and after testing out their silk, cashmere, and linen, I’m ready to share my Quince review. After all, I’m always on the hunt for quality pieces (especially after writing about the best affordable luxury brands).

Here’s what you need to know before making your next wardrobe investment.

What is Quince?

Quince is part of a growing wave of direct-to-consumer brands that are changing the game by offering high-quality pieces without the traditional retail markup. By cutting out the middleman, Quince delivers clothing, accessories, and home goods at prices that are often significantly lower than traditional retail.

Although the brand is relatively new—founded in San Francisco in 2018—it’s quickly gaining attention (and, more importantly, market share) as shoppers seek quality pieces that don’t involve jaw-dropping price tags.

Quince Silk Review

Quince Review woman in silk maxi skirt Quince crafts the following pieces with machine-washable mulberry silk that’s soft to the touch and easy to maintain. Here are my thoughts after wearing two of their popular silk pieces:

Silk Tank Midi Dress

Let’s step into this Quince clothing review with a silky start. I selected this body-skimming tank dress for its feminine yet relaxed feel. The silk is incredibly breathable and has a bit of stretch thanks to the spandex.

Price: $79.90

Material:  90% mulberry silk, 10% spandex

Size: Small

What I Love: A dress that’s soft, breathable, and works well with normal bras. Hallelujah! This is easy to throw on and supremely versatile. It works equally well in my casual capsule wardrobe as in a work capsule. Plus, it’s machine washable and does NOT shrink. As a low-maintenance laundry girlie, this won me over.

What I’d Change: This is labeled a midi dress but it hits right at my ankle. If you’re under 5’4 like me, you’ll likely experience this as a maxi.

Silk Maxi Skirt

Next up, this champagne-colored silk skirt which can be a year-round closet staple. This hit a bit below my ankles and pairs well with so many tops. Read my pros and cons below.

Price: $79.90

Material: 100% mulberry silk

Size: Small

What I Love: It’s classic, feminine, and easy to style. I wore this on a girls’ trip to Palm Beach and it went easily from day strolls to elevated dinners with a few accessory changes.

What I’d Change: It’s not high maintenance but it’s not low maintenance either. The skirt needs a good steam before you slip it on. I wanted to add this to my travel capsule wardrobe but it wrinkles even when I pack it carefully.

Quince Cashmere Review

When I delve into fashion forums, one question appears often- is Quince cashmere any good? Yes, the brand uses Grade-A Mongolian Cashmere which feels super soft. Here’s my take on the boatneck sweater.

Cashmere Boatneck Sweater

Price: $79.90

Material:  100% Grade-A Mongolian cashmere

Size: Small

What I Love: I can’t stand sweaters that feel constricting. This is the perfect lightweight layer – lovely on its own and substantial enough to act as an additional layer on chilly days. Oh, did I mention it’s sumptuously soft?

What I’d Change: The boatneck could be more pronounced. It feels more like a soft subtle neckline rather than the crisp, horizontal cut I look for in a boatneck.

Quince Linen: My Take

Let’s talk linen. Quince’s pieces feature European flax linen which the brand notes is “Quince’s a more sustainable and less resource-intensive fabric choice.” Scroll on for my experience with the fabric.

Linen Long Sleeve Shirt

Price: $79.90

Material: 100% European flax linen

Size: Small

What I Love: Finding a 100% linen top under $50 is a fashion feat. If the statement top in my closet is the drama queen, this linen top is the friendly one that plays well with others.

As noted in my summer capsule wardrobe, a breathable linen top is a warm-weather staple. This one checks my boxes.

What I’d Change: For a more versatile fit, I recommend sizing up. The linen gives the shirt a naturally relaxed drape, and a slightly looser fit feels more harmonious to me.

Quince Leather: My Take

Quince utilizes 100% top-grain leather and is  LWG (Leather Working Group) certified. Translation – it adheres to strict environmental and sustainability standards in the tanning process. While their leather jackets get rave reviews, I opted for something I knew I’d use routinely – a simple leather wallet.

Leather Wallet

Price: $49.90

Material: 100% Top Grain Italian Leather

Size: One Size

What I Love: I opted for the wallet in Olive, and it’s quickly become a functional, minimalist staple in my purse.

The Italian pebbled leather feels luxe, and the clean design has loads of slots for credit cards, business cards, that parking pass you always misplace, etc.

What I’d Change: The wallet is on the larger side, which makes it ideal for a tote or medium handbag but less suitable for compact purses.

If you prefer a smaller option, look at this adorable pint-sized counterpart

Is Quince a Good Brand?

Yes, Quince is a solid choice for anyone seeking classic, no-fuss wardrobe staples made from quality materials. They offer a wide range of sizes and their price point is refreshingly affordable compared to other brands using similar fabrics like silk, cashmere, and linen.

While their styles lean toward understated and versatile, the attention to detail and fabric quality make them stand out in the world of everyday basics.

Quince Quality

Quality-wise, I’m generally satisfied with Quince. The silk pieces in particular feel amazing on my body and wear well. I’m still testing the longevity of the cashmere, as I plan to put it through a few more washes to get a complete picture of its durability. So far, it seems to maintain its softness and shape, which is promising.

Quince Sizing

Quince’s sizing is true to size and if you’re a review-scouring type like me, you’ll find pictures of other shoppers wearing the items. You can browse to find body types similar to yours and see exactly what size suits it. The generous 365-day return policy is also worth mentioning—if something isn’t quite right, you can easily swap it for a better fit.

How Quince Compares to Similar Brands

Since Quince is newer on the scene, it’s helpful to see how it stacks up against more established direct-to-consumer brands. Here are my observations:

What Makes It Stand Out

Quince is generally more affordable for similar high-quality materials, but Everlane emphasizes ethical sourcing more.

Those who value ethical production with slightly more structured, tailored designs.

Quince offers similar quality cashmere at a lower price, though Naadam focuses more on sustainability.

While Cuyana offers luxurious basics, Quince’s items are significantly cheaper, especially for leather goods.

Minimalist wardrobes, but with a bigger budget for leather and silk pieces.

Jenni Kayne

California-cool aesthetic, premium pricing

Quince provides similar quality cashmere and alpaca but at a fraction of the price.

Shoppers looking for relaxed luxury without breaking the bank.

Italic offers a wider range of products, but for affordable, high-quality clothing staples, Quince is the go-to.

Anyone wanting designer-like pieces but without the hefty price tag.

Quince FAQs

Let’s round out this Quince review with answers to common questions about the brand.

Absolutely, Quince is a legit brand with a solid reputation for delivering high-quality, affordable clothing. I’ve communicated directly with members of the Quince team, and they’ve always been transparent, helpful, and eager to answer my questions. Fashion bloggers and minimalist style lovers alike agree that the pieces are well-made, and I’ve personally found their silk products to be impressively soft and well-priced compared to other luxury brands.

Quince keeps its prices in check by operating as a direct-to-consumer brand. This means they skip the traditional retail markup, allowing them to offer their products at prices that are often much lower than what you’d find at traditional stores. They also collaborate closely with manufacturers to ensure fair wages and safe working conditions, which helps keep costs down while maintaining quality.
